In this day and age with cell phones, caller I.D., identity theft and telephone salesmen I began to think this may be why she didn’t answer. I set about to write a note, later typed it up but still didn’t mail it! A week later I decided to call one more time before I actually mailed the letter.
Someone answered!!! Oh! It was the housekeeper. Well, actually it was the caregiver. Mrs. Trask was 96 years old and had Alzheimer’s. But ‘her son is here, I’ll let you talk to him.’
YES! Success, Finally …I think.
WVT, Jr. came to the phone. I introduced myself and explained why I had called. (Maybe, just maybe, they knew something about Caleb’s parentage!!!)
Turns out they didn’t know who Arly’s parents were much less anything about Arly’s grandfather’s parents! Pssssssssssssssssssssssssstent! There went the air out of my balloon, ---again!
Well I found a new cousin; WVT, Jr. is my third cousin and we had a nice visit. Guess I am still going to send a letter, as I will send him some information! I made someone’s day! But it wasn’t mine.
Back to digging! I wonder if I can go under the brick wall????
