A short note to friends and family,
I have keep myself busy which isn’t hard at this time of the year! The church had a
Thanksgiving dinner for those who were alone, unable to afford to cook a dinner or what ever. I
went and helped with the preparations, helped serve, and ate there with friends. Was very tired at
the end of the day, but watched Football!!
Christmas time was equally busy. Being on a committee at church that puts Thanksgiving
and Christmas food baskets together we did that for about 20 families both times. Then I was able
to once again sing in the community church choir that took weekly practices and then we had 3
performances that we put on 2 in different churches and one in the auditorium at City Hall. That
was a new place for us and was pleased to see that the place was almost full.
With that over focus was on Christmas day! I had several invites which once again told
me that I was loved by my church family. A friend of many years, who lost her husband last year
and I went to dinner at one of our church family’s house . We had a lovely time of fun, food and
fellowship.
Yes I decorated up the house for Christmas did some things a little differently and also put
up the icicle lights out side and a string on the railing on the ramp. They were very pretty. They
posed a challenge but stuck with it and got it fixed! We have had some snow, which I love maybe
it’s the New Yorker in me!! Earlier a friend and I got the snowblade put on the 4wheeler. I have
used it twice now not that much snow but easer to keep ahead of it then to let it build up.
So you see I have been busy and that is just the highlights! There were boxes to fill and
mail, baking to do before hand, Carmel corn to make and the usual cleaning, laundry, horse, cats,
and fish to feed daily!
I thank you for your prayers, that is what keeps me going! I trust/lean on the Lord every
day for strength, wisdom in decisions, and comfort. Oh, some of you don’t know but I also lost
my dog that I had had for several years and was a constant companion. She died 10 days after
Gerald did. That was very hard. His death I was preparing for and she was too help with the lonely
times! But once again God told me, “My strength is sufficient, I will help you through.” and He
did and has everyday.
Looking towards an exciting new year to see what God has for me in the months to come.
Trust you have a great year as you walk through it with Him.
Love, Christa
